Mr. D. Shanthamurthy, Farmer

F/o S. Shantha Praveen (2012-13), Age 44

Before joining the college my son was meek and full of doubts. After completing the course he has courage and focus. He owes it to the college. What I personally like about this college is they teach good skills and self-discipline. The Director, the Principal and the faculty gave their support to my son throughout the academic year. The college has a large library, indoor and outdoor games for the students to play. The functions and parent-teacher meetings are very useful to us. I will do whatever I can to help this institution grow.

Mr. K Ramakrishnan, Farmer

F/o R Dinakaran (2013-14), Age: 44

My son was an average student and a timid boy before he joined the college. But after completing the course and taking up a job he has completely turned around. The authorities here run the college extremely well. Life coping skills, work skills taught by the faculties have helped my son to improve. He has learnt self-discipline taught to him with love and kindness. This college has made my son a good automobile mechanic. We will help the college according to our strength.

Mr. K. Ganeshmurthy, Mechanic

F/o G. Shanmugha Sundaram (2012-2013), Age: 45

My son had no clarity or enthusiasm for anything. But now he is focused, has good habits and shows varied interest in life. He owes it to the college. The college imparts good lessons, teaches self-discipline and moulds youth into likable characters. My son had lost hope after failing in 10th board examinations, but got his life back from this college. They charge low fees and have great infrastructure. The Director and the Principal handle the children in a loving way. The teachers follow effective teaching methods using computer and projector. The parent teacher meetings are useful to us.

Mr. Ezhumalai, Farmer

G/o Dinesh T (2012-13), Age: 54

My nephew Dinesh lost his parents when he was 12. I struggled to educate Dinesh. He failed his 10th board exams. And I was afraid for his life. That is when I admitted him in this college after hearing from students in my village. And now he is well-placed in life. The Director’s compassion, the teaching methodology and the curriculum have helped him immensely. His teacher has been a source of profound moral support. I will help out the future admissions in the college.

Mr. V.Dandapani, Farmer

F/o D Karthik (2012-13), Age: 46

My son lacked motivation and was a below average student. He failed his board examination. But now he works as an automobile mechanic in a private shop. I am very happy. He has learnt skills and values. The teachers here take care of the children like their own kids. They teach confidence, self-discipline and self-esteem, which are of great value to poor people like us. The parent-teacher meeting every year is of great use to us.

Mrs. M Selvi, Daily Wager

M/o M Balamurugan (2014 - 15), Age: 38

I am Selvi, mother of Balamurugan. My son had developed many unsavoury habits due to bad company. Only after joining the college he has dropped these and acquired technical and life skills. Now he is fine. He has done his Diploma in Automobile Mechanism and is undergoing presently industrial training. The college faculty are highly supportive. I like the level of interaction between parents and teachers. This college has all the necessary facilities such as purified water service, good computer lab, facility for indoor + outdoor games and spacious library. Audio visual teaching aids are highly effective. The job they get for the children is a great financial support. I will do my best for future admissions. I will help the college in whatever ways I can.

Mrs. V. Tamizhselvi, Employee in a Pvt company

M/o V. Mohan Raj (2014-15), Age: 42

I am Tamizhselvi. We stay at Chennai. My son failed his 10th state board exam. He was disturbed in mind and under psychiatric medication. My sister-in-law who lives in a village close to this college persuaded me to get him admitted here. The college has taken extraordinary care to help him to come out of his mental disturbance and poor memory through the practice of yoga and unconditional love. And through lessons in life coping skills he has learnt how to behave and respect people. The parent-teacher meetings have opened my eyes and helped me to bond with my son. Sending him to work in his chosen field (auto-mechanism), giving him quality space and time to play, and the tidiness of the premises – all these things impress me. I wish to bring all such children for getting educated here. This is one of the best institutions in the state.

Mrs. Prabavathi, Daily Wages Labor

M/o J. Priyanka (2014 - 2015), Diploma in Computerised Accounting & Office Management

I admitted my daughter through my nephew. She used to get upset often and is poor in anger management. She succeeded in 12th board examination however due to financial constraints she could not pursue further studies. Upon joining this college she has learnt good and healthy habits, respect for others and self-esteem. In short she has gained control over herself. It is a source of great relief and pride for me. The Director and the Principal are like father and mother for these poor kids. But more than anything else I like the fact that students here not only get educated but also employed.

Mrs. S. Jhansirani, Employee in a Pvt Company

M/o S. Sandeep Anand (2014-15), Age: 43

My son had a fearful temper and laziness when it came to studying. So he failed his board examination. I feared for his future. Now I am confident that his future his secure. The Director and his teachers are a great moral support to our son. They teach discipline and good habits lovingly. Now my son is respected and has started teaching others about what life skills are. I am keen to help this college.

Mr. P.Subramaniaan, Farmer

F/o S Kodiyarasi (2014-15), Age: 54

My daughter had a habit of losing her temper quite often. She was also quite introverted. She succeeded in 12th board examination. However she could not pursue further studies owing to financial constraints. The college has helped her overcome her deficiencies and gain control over self. Life-skill lessons have improved the quality of her thought and emotions. The Director and the Principal play the vital role of godparents for the children. Parent teacher meetings are an especially innovative feature of this college. We attend meetings with great enthusiasm and invariably return with a good learning.

Mrs. Padmini, Attendee @ PIMS

M/o Umashankari

I work as an attendee at PIMS hospital. And each I saw a nurse I wanted my own daughter to serve the sick in a white coat. In fact I learnt about the college only through a nurse who was an alumna. Now my own daughter works, serving the ill with humility and passion. I was widowed four years ago. However the presence of my daughter in my life is the cause of an immense mental tranquillity for me. The certainty that she will not disobey or dishonour me in any way and will always stay true to the virtues she imbibed at her college are precious gifts to me from the Director sir and the Principal madam. I wish to bring many such daughters who may be reborn like my own daughter.

Mr. Shankar , Daily Wage labour

F/o Sasikala

I am Shankar, proud father of two daughters, both students of SVRCC. It was the source of great joy to me when my elder daughter was admitted to the college. This is because the whole institution is set in a divine ambience. The words and the force of deeds of the Director Sir inspire an unconscious awe and faith in me, that he will never treat them in any other way than like his own children, always guiding with love. My daughter is now happily married for a year and now works at Mahalakshmi Hospital. My younger daughter also did her nursing here. Goal orientation and faith in oneself are the hallmarks of students who get educated here.

Mrs. Paarvathi, House Wife

M/o Valarmathi

I am Paarvathi. When I first saw this college, I only saw a thatched roof and without utilities and wondered if I should choose it. It is the best thing I could have given to my daughter. The Parents/Teachers meetings made it clear for us how and under what circumstances the college was conceived and realized. It is then I realized that it is not so much the facilities and amenities as much as the people who sit inside it, the quality of heart. Halfway through the course, I had to discontinue my daughter’s education due to personal issues. If it had been any other college, I am sure they wouldn’t have cared. But the Director called us up, learnt about the issue, helped us solve the problem and resume the education. And now my daughter works at PIMS. God bless SVRCC!

Mr. Sekhar, Tailor

F/o Subasri & Jayasri

I am Sekhar and physically challenged. Both my daughters were educated at SVRCC. My first daughter, Subasri, completed her diploma in Health Assistance. She is very adamant by nature and she never obeys my words. But she completely turned around after joining the college. She made me proud by becoming one of the pet students of the Director Sir. The cause of change in her, I am certain, are the teachers, their kind words and accommodative behaviour and deep care. My second daughter, Jayasri, completed Diploma in Computer Application Management with distinction. Now she works at Saravana Agency. Both my daughters are improving themselves further even after employment.

Mr. Palani, Daily Wages Labourer

H/o Baagyam

These days a single salary is not sufficient to run a family without compromising aspects such as education of children or their health. My wife studied nursing at SVRCC. She has now passed with distinction and works at PIMS. I am very proud of my wife working as a nurse in a reputed hospital. SVRCC is an institution that helps people like us, who cannot afford good and quality education and at the same time run a family. I thank Sir and Madam from my heart.

Mr. Gandhi, Teacher

H/o Hamsaveni

I am a teacher in a private school. Before joining this college, my wife was very confused about her own future and place in life. Now as a student of nursing in SVRCC she feels content and happy. I am grateful to SVRCC for bringing this transformation in my wife’s attitude which is crucial for success in career and harmony in life.

Mrs. Susila

M/o Kamala

My husband expired 71/2 years ago. Kamala looks after me and her sisters. She is my second daughter and she married her uncle, my brother. He frequently quarrelled with her and had a lot of bad habits. There was a lot of household violence. Soon, they went their own ways. That is when she heard about SVRCC and joined the college. Now she is strong and clear about what she wants, where she is, where she wishes to go and how to get there. She is now happy with her child. And she seems to have somehow grown immune to fate!
